Forest United won 2-0 on Wednesday to lift the East Ham Hospital Charity Cup.
Playing Newham United (From Senior Division Three of The Essex Olympian League) in the final, Forest took a early 2-0 lead in the first half thanks to Micha Gentle's goal & a Michael Southee converted penalty.
Despite a spirited second half fight back from Newham Utd, Forest held firm & secured a 2-0 victory again the defending cup holders.
Congratulations to Ryan Thompson-Cobham & all the lads that have been invovled in the cup run throughout this season.
Should be interesting next season as Forest will aim to retain the trophy!!!
Forest United lost the Ilford & District league Fenton Cup Final 2-1 on Wednesday.
Playing against Redbridge Elite (Who had already won the League cup after a 5-3 win over Castle United, the Premier Division champions) Forest took the lead after some great build-up led to Lee Chambers curling the ball from the left hand side of the 18 yard box into the top right hand corner of the Redbridge Elite goal for the best goal of the final.
However Redbridge Elite were able to level the scores & with less than five minutes left til the end of normal time, Redbridge scored a second, winning goal to break Forest hearts. Congratulations to Redbridge who enjoyed their second cup final success in recent weeks.
