Forest United lost 11-0 away to Castle United on Saturday.
This was the second meeting between the two teams so far this season after Forest Utd had lost 5-0 at home to Castle United in the Essex Junior Cup first round. With Castle Utd winning all of their league matches so far this season & currently top of the premier divsion, Forest Utd were in for a tough encounter.
The first half of the match saw Forest Utd produce what can be only described as their worst first half perfomance so far this season. With only eleven players present, things were made worst after an ankle injury to Chris Mitchell during the first half, saw Forest reduced to ten men. Castle Utd's performance on the other hand was one that merely confirmed their current good form & results were no accident. In a totally one sided affair Castle Utd had established a 7-0 lead by the end of the first half. Forest had no answer to the on slaughter.
The second half saw a major improvement from Forest, after a reshuffle & some choice words led to a better showing. Forest managed to not only string a few passes together but also kept hold of the ball for periods, while denying Castle Utd time & space with the ball. This in no small part explains the reason why Forest only conceded a further four goals in the half. But with the damage already done & Forest focusing on damage limitation, the result was never in doubt. Castle securing a 11-0 victory.
Dark day for Forest United as they suffer a heavy defeat against a slick, in form Catsle United side. The question is now, can Forest United come back from this terrible result & move forward!!!
