Forest United Reserves reached the semi-final of the Forest United FC 11-a-side Tournament where they lost 3-0 to the Forest United first team on Saturday.
This year was the second time the tournament had been held & with eight teams taking part (Forest United, Forest United Reserves, CSM/Island FC, East Londoners, Trewlany, Castle United, Lotus Sports & Euro Dagenham Reserves) it promised to deliver a feast of football for all those present.
The eight teams were split into two groups of four teams:
Group 1:
Forest Utd
Island FC
Trelawny
Euro Dagenham Res
Group 2:
Forest Utd Res
Castle Utd
Lotus Sports
East Londoners
Forest Utd Reserves lost their opening match in the group stages 1-0 to East Londoners.
In their second group match the reserves won 1-0 over Lotus Sports with Christian Pinnock scoring the goal.
In their final group matches the reserves drew 0-0 with Castle United to finish as runners-up in their group & take on the first team in one of the semi-finals.
In the first of the semi-finals, the two Forest teams lined up against each other. In a fiercely contested match the first team ran out 3-0 winners.
Forest United Reserves will now prepare for the new season as they face London & Essex at home next weekend in what is believed to be their final friendly match before the start of the new season.
